"Automatic Self Triggering image capture eliminates costly inlane trigger sensors."

The Transport Data Systems self triggering algorithm provides a quick and efficient method for detecting a vehicle or a license plate in a video stream and capturing license plate images from that vehicle. The server processes the images from a camera that is streaming video. The application can also be used in low speed situations like parking lots and border crossings to eliminate the need for a trigger device. It can also be used in ORT situations as a backup in the event the triggering system fails. TDS has worked with CarCode Corporation to develop a a self triggering algorithm that can locate either vehicles or license plates from a video stream. The CarCode team of machine vision specialists from the University of California San Diego have signficant experience in the development of self triggering techniques. With the use of high resolution digital camera images, this application provides excellent correlation performance in this application.

The reliability of the self triggering process is directly related to the pixel density of the image and the noise characteristics of the camera. The system works well with the digital area scam camera systems that are provided by TDS as part of its image capture systems.
