2003 - TDS has installed an inventory control systems in two
lanes of the Five Star Parking lot at their San Diego airport
facility. The system includes image capture systems in entry
and exit lanes along with a central server containing a database.
Each image capture system includes a real time license plate
reader capability. Entry and exit transactions along with the
rear vehicle images are stored in the database in the central
server. The central server provides a web page interface to
the inventory of the parking lot complete with entry times and
images. It also provides access to an archive of exited vehicles.
TDS is working with Five Star to develop operational procedures and system capabilities to allow the generation and maintenance of a very accurate accounting of all vehicles in the parking lot. This will further allow Five Star to quickly determine the entry time of a vehicle in the event that the patron is unable to produce a ticket.
Transport Data Systems designs, develops, produces, and sells automatic vehicle classification and license plate capture products for the fare collection and parking lot management markets. TDS also provides system, hardware and software design services for real time data collection and control systems with particular emphasis on the fare collection market.
