September, 2002 - National Toll Roads (NTR) has placed an order with Transport Data Systems for Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC) software for a demonstration AVC system to be installed at the West Link Plaza on the M50 Motorway in Dublin, Ireland. The AVC system will include a 10 foot light curtain, Doppler radar and a single strip fiber optic treadle to produce the vehicle classifications . The AVC system will be integrated into the lane controller by ASCOM, the system integrator. The demonstration will be completed by the end of January, 2003. NTR is evaluating the TDS AVC for implementation at all lanes at the East and West Link plazas on the M50 Motorway

TDS also provides system, hardware and software design services for real time data collection and control systems with particular emphasis on the fare collection market.
