January, 2002 - Nissin Systems Company, LTD has issued a purchase order to TDS for a license plate reader test system for use in their internal development efforts. The system includes a Wintriss Engineering OPSIS 1300 camera system along with an image capture station and an image triggering systenm. The image capture station is equipped with TDS software packages for image capture, license plate location and optical character recognition. TDS will work with Nissin to develop the OCR software for recognition of japanese license plate characters.

Transport Data Systems designs, develops, produces, and sells automatic vehicle classification and license plate capture products for the fare collection and parking lot management markets. TDS also provides system, hardware and software design services for real time data collection and control systems with particular emphasis on the fare collection market.
