Press Release

August, 2001 - Adesta Transportation Systems has awarded TDS a subcontract to prepare the software for a lane simulator for delivery to the Regional Consortium. The Lane Simulator will simulate the movement of multiple vehicle types through the lane by generating the interface signals required by the Lane Controller. This will allow all configurations of the Lane Controller software to be efficiently and effectively tested in the laboratory without the added expense of setting up an outdoor test lane. The Lane Simulator design will use an off the shelf commercial PC running the Redhat Linux operating system. The software design incorporates a modified version of the Linux kernel configured for real time operation down to a 1ms granularity. The object orientated software application will be written in C++ and Tool Command Language (TCL), and will incorporates a WEB based GUI that is written in PHP. The simulator is scheduled to be completed by year end.

Transport Data Systems designs, develops, produces, and sells automatic vehicle classification and license plate capture products for the fare collection and parking lot management markets. TDS also provides system, hardware and software design services for real time data collection and control systems with particular emphasis on the fare collection market.
